Nurture Provision
Nurture groups
Our nurture group is a focused, short-term intervention for pupils whose emotional or behavioural needs may be a barrier to learning. Our group is a class of six children taught by two members of trained staff. We follow a curriculum tailored to meet the children’s individual learning needs. This includes aspects of the National Curriculum and learning opportunities designed to promote social and emotional development and skills. Find out more about our Nurture provision here
Nurture breakfast club
As part of our Nurture provision, we run a breakfast club in our Nurture room each morning for pupils who need extra support starting their school day. This runs from 8.30 until 8:50 when the children go to class for registration.
Sutton Nurture Guidance
This guidance has been co-produced between Cognus Educational Psychology Service (EPS) and practitioners working in Sutton schools and Nurture Interventions. It has been created in light of the increasing interest in Nurture approaches and Nurture-focused interventions across Sutton schools, with the aim of creating guidance to inform schools of best practice in this area.
