Filtering and Monitoring

Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 placed an even greater focus for school safeguarding teams to understand and strengthen the filtering and monitoring processes at school.

Filtering

Web filtering is a technology that stops users from viewing certain URLs or websites by preventing their browsers from loading pages from these sites.

Wood Field Primary's internet filtering is provided by the London Grid for Learning (LGfL). This provides a significant number of layers of protection ensuring that content that could be deemed as inappropriate is not able to be viewed by pupils or staff.

Monitoring

Monitoring allows you to review user activity on school and college devices.

At Wood Field Primary School all children have an individual log-in and password for the school Chromebook devices. This allows us to monitor the the sites and content that each child tries to access.

Our monitoring is provided by Smoothwall, a child digital safety technology provider.
